SORT TRACKRODS OUT FAST

Laser Tools’ new track rod adjusting wrench (part number 8038) is designed along with the traditional pipe-wrench style, but with added features to make a comfortable and efficient method of removing and adjusting track rods and track rod ends.

The 18in (457mm) rubber-gripped handle gives great leverage and the quick-fit, spring-loaded jaws help prevent slippage and damage. The jaws adjust between 10-35mm which will fit the track rods of most cars and light commercial vehicles.

It fits over the track rod or track rod end quickly and grips instantly. Of course, it can be used for traditional pipework!

A MESSY PROBLEM

The royal-warranted car cleaning experts at Autoglym are delighted to release Reflow, an innovative and extremely effective new product that is able to restore paint damage caused by bird droppings – and all without any additional equipment or effort.

Contrary to popular belief, the damage etched into vehicle paintwork by bird droppings is not caused by acid but by repeated thermal cycles. These gradually force the clear coat to mould itself around the deposit and therefore create an impression of that shape within the paint surface, often in the form of a faded or dull patch.

Of course, this can be avoided More >

EXCITING NEW ARRIVAL

Under the radar and unexpected new launch, this week (at Goodwood Festival of Speed) from Wells Motor Cars is the Vertige. Although not a kit (sadly), it is very specialist and extremely interesting.

It’s been developed in secret and has been designed to be simple to own and fun to drive. The instigator of the project is entrepreneur, Robin Wells, who has been working on the Vertige (French for vertigo, by the way) since 2014 when he was looking for a sportscar to buy.

Not satisfied with the choice on offer, he decided to create his own engaging the services of the More >

‘WIDE FIVE’ BRM-STYLE

This style of wheel is one of my favourites although the original BRM wheels were produced from magnesium and now swap hands for thousands of pounds each.

Heritage Parts Centre has captured the real look of the seventies once again with their own tribute to this iconic wheel.

Rather than magnesium, this version is produced from alloy although they retain the ‘wide five’ stud pattern and are available in 5 x 15in sizes with a more user-friendly offset of ET14.

They come in a matt black finish highlighted in silver. I think they’d look great on a variety of kitcars particularly if they More >
