Essex-based master tuners, Atspeed, made good use of their time in lockdown by producing a totally new website.
The new site graphically features all the services that Atspeed provides including: rolling road power testing and engine mapping on their 1000hp rolling road, engine development, carburettor tuning and conversions, ECU installations and fuel injection conversions, ultrasonic carburettor and fuel injector cleaning, Smoke-Pro leak detection and general workshop repairs and servicing.
There is also an online shop for the purchase of engine components, carburettors, engine management systems and all the components associated with engine tuning.

A BEAUTIFUL BOUNCING BABY BUGATTI!

Not strictly one for us but given our love of all things ‘specialist’ and this is way cool, I decided to run it!
At the Geneva International Motor Show in 2019, Bugatti announced a 110th birthday present to themselves, the re-imagining of the original ‘Bugatti Baby’
Since then the design concept has been completed and the little car has gone into series production with deliveries commencing soon.
Developed in partnership with The Little Car Company, the Baby II has been described by those who have had the opportunity to drive it as ‘more of an unruly teenager than a Baby’.

PRESSURE – GOT ME UNDER PRESSURE

Webcon has announced a new fuel pressure regulator for use with carburettors which will reduce high EFi fuel pressure down to low pressure.
This reduction allows a more stable high pressure/high flow, EFi type, fuel pump with a swirl pot to supply a carburettor fed engine. The result is a smoother, uninterrupted fuel supply which is less affected by fuel vapour lock or centrifugal forces during cornering, acceleration or braking – all without the need of an ECU or full EFi conversion.

REVIVE WITH A QUICK SPRAY

I really like Quick Spray Wax from Revive Auto Apothecary. It’s a perfect companion to their Quick Detailer and acts as a great ‘topper’, which is a final gloss coat over an application of wax. It leaves a hydrophobic finish that results in a crazy amount of beading.
Longevity is good with no water-spots left following inclement weather, which can happen with some other similar products, rather the Revive Quick Spray Wax retains its original high-gloss.

SAUCY SHINE

Scottish car care brand HB Sauce (love that name!) is known for a small yet superb range of products and they almost have a cult following for their custom paste waxes. Kevin ‘Hugo Brown’ Longman sent me one of their latest limited editions to try out this week – Beadmaster Hybrid wax.
It’s a really hard wax and a little goes a very, very long way. There’s a smell of lime meets Belgian Waffles, if I’m not mistaken. I tried it out on a hot, sunny day and applied it sparingly following an application of sealant.

SOAK IT AND DEGREASE IT

Citrus Soak Degreaser from Mint Classic is an alkaline-based pre-wash and degreaser designed to effectively remove stubborn dirt and grease.
The smell is akin to an oven cleaner with a hint of lemon juice. Oooh, a bit like Cif, I suppose (other citrus-infused oven and kitchen cleaners are obviously available in a store near you!).
You spray this one onto a soiled area and allow it to dwell. You can go direct or via a cloth. Don’t allow the product to dry though and if required give it a nudge with a wash mitt or soft brush.

IF YOU ‘BRAKE’ IT; MINI SPARES CAN FIX IT!

Mini Spares now offers its own Brake Caliper Seal Repair Kit as a cheaper, but comparable, alternative to the genuine Lockheed kit. The kit is suitable for Minis from 1984 on that were equipped with 8.4in discs. There’ll be a few kitcars there, then!
This rebuild kit also fits the Midget/Sprite 1098/1275cc front disc brake calipers.

VETERANS HEADING FOR BRIGHTON

The Royal Automobile Club has announced that the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run will be going ahead on Sunday, November 1, 2020.
Ben Cussons, Chairman of the Club, explained: “It gives the club enormous pleasure to be announcing this news and it’s wonderful that we are able to use the traditional London to Brighton route.
