TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE SAYS WEBCON

Webcon has offered a Weber manifold for the Rover V8 engine for some time, but with two carburettors positioned on each cylinder head, this has sometimes proved a little too high for some applications.
Now the company has revised the design and positioned four Weber IDF carburettors in a line along the manifold between the heads, much like the early Aston Martin V8, creating an overall lower profile.

‘ALTERNATOR’ THINKING FROM BURTON POWER

Burton Power now has a 40A alternator kit for RWD applications in Escorts, Capris, Cortinas, and it is also suitable for Kent Crossflow and pre-Crossflow powered kit-cars (that’s code for saying ‘lots of cars’, then.
The kits use a compact Nippon Denso alternator weighing in at just 2.75kg. The compact alternator locates closer to the block by means of a custom-made laser-cut one-piece bracket that incorporates the tensioning arm. The kit also includes a drive belt, required fixings and a plug connector.

Good news for many kit and specialist car enthusiasts is that Toyo’s Proxes R888R in 275 40 R17 fitment is back in stock (Available to ship early August) and owners of replicas such as Lancia Stratos will be pleased as that’s the ideal rear tyre size for their cars.

Have you got a ‘really useful’ drawer in your toolbox? Well, clear a space for this magnetic wire-soldering clamp (part number 7019) from Laser Tools. Mounted on a flexible shaft, the clamps are designed to hold two wires precisely and securely in position while you solder them or apply heatshrink.
