I was very saddened to hear of the death this week of John Parradine, aged 72.
The late John Parradine 1950-2023
To regular readers and kitcar enthusiasts, John will need no introduction as he first appeared on the kitcar radar in 1985 with his Jaguar-based roadster the Deltayn Proteus.
John was always very kind to me and my first contact with him was when I worked for Kit Cars & Specials magazine in the eighties. Unusual GBS Zero seen here. It was prepared and presented to IVA by Great British Sportscars and is now registered and heading off to its excited new owner.
The Zero Custom self-build option that GBS offers allows customers to tailor the Zero to the engine configuration of their choice, whether that is an already compatible engine or a completely custom engine installation.
This customer-built Zero is powered by a Kawasaki 1400 GTR motorbike engine and will be enjoyed on both the road and track.
The Kawasaki 1400 GTR engine produces 140bhp with a six-speed sequential gearbox with an Emerald K6 ECU.

NEW ELECTRIC KITCAR LOOKING FOR A SPARK

A very exciting electric kitcar project could still reach production if a partner can be found. It comes from the talented British-based, Polish designer, Zbigniew Dubiel and is called the Navrot, named after a famous Polish car designer called Cezary Nawrot who designed the Syrena Sport back in the late fifties.
Zbigniew takes up the story: “While creating this design, the biggest challenge for me was to visually connect the new electric powertrain technology with the kitcar community without creating an overly futuristic, or extravagant/extreme design.
