EASY STEER

Adding switches to your steering wheel to activate devices like trans-brakes, line-locks, or nitrous can be a wiring nightmare. That’s not a problem with a TCI Spiral Cord Switch Kit.

It has a four-wire 18-gauge cord to handle the two included microswitches, saving you the hassle of using a separate two-wire cord for each switch. Add another TCI microswitch and you can power three activation buttons from the same cord. How easy is that?

TURBO KNOW HOW FROM NISSENS

As the vast majority of the vehicles in the UK are still powered by either a petrol or diesel engine – and even hybrid electrics still incorporate one version or the other – the demand for engine-related replacement parts is as strong as ever, and recent forecasts indicate this will remain the case for at least the next decade

In order to conform with European emissions legislation, whatever their fuel type, many of these engines are small capacity units employing forced induction combustion systems, which are almost always reliant on a turbocharger.

THE STORY OF ALAN FRASER ENGINEERING AND THE FRASER GT

STEVE HOLE TELLS THE STORY OF THE FRASER GT

Alan Fraser had a very interesting automotive story within motorsport and the specialist car industry. Although his parents were Scottish, Alan was born in Hildenborough, Kent in 1930.

He earned the nickname ‘the little hurricane’ due to his fast and carefree driving style. It was 1953, when the 23-year-old Fraser started the Alan Fraser Racing team based at Mountains Garage, Hildenborough, right by the side of the A21. His team logo was always a Stag emblem, a tip of the hat to his Scottish ancestry.

FANCY AN AMPHIB?

The excellent Carandclassic.com auction site has its second Dutton amphib in as many weeks in the form of an excellent example of the Mariner from 1996.

Tim must surely have been the world’s most prolific manufacturer of amphibious cars. Fresh from producing over 8500 kitcars moved into the amphibious car market with the Marina and the Commander – based upon the Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Samurai, respectively. Production ended in late 2022 – but these quirky little water-going motors have proven to have a marvellous flair for longevity.

This example is a particularly early Mariner, with a 1.8-litre twin-jet spec taken from More >
