SOME IDEAS ARE GOOD; SOME ARE JUST BRILLIANT!

Here’s a great new venture that we think will be of great interest to totalkitcar/TKC Mag readers. It’s called The Machine Shop and is located in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Basically, if you are struggling for workshop space or don’t have a covered area in which to work, or you have the skills to do a specific job but don’t have the equipment, join up at The Machine Shop and use their space and their tools and machinery. How often have you been left on a Sunday afternoon wishing for access to a TIG welder or a metal guillotine, for example?

Rettendon, Essex-based RS Retro makers of superb RS200 replicas, have announced a new fully-built-only ‘Black Edition’ model, which features a full carbon-fibre body, MSA-spec roll-cage, a strengthened chassis, centre-lock wheels, an aero-package and competition-spec mono-shocks.

The Ford EcoBoost 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine will be enough to propel the stealthy and frankly gorgeous-looking RS Retro 200 model along very nicely. It wears a from £100,000 price tag but considering the specification, the rarity value and beautiful looks seem like big value for money.

KING KONG AND SKYSCRAPERS?

It’s rare that a product like the Pioneer SPH-EVO8TAB-BT shakes the in-car entertainment world like King Kong on a New York Skyscraper, but when it does Pioneer carries the kudos of an A-list movie star.

Thanks to the portable tablet option afforded by this duo, this 8in Capacitive head unit redefines the notion of a double DIN stereo altogether.  Not only that, it benefits from Pioneer’s long-held audiophile reputation for high-end, high-resolution audio quality. Waze, Spotify, Bluetooth® connectivity are accompanied by the endless stream of downloadable apps from the Google Play store.

It’s not often you can call a 4x50w stereo that More >

MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP!

Go on admit it. How many times, usually on a hot summer day in direct sunlight have you tried to polish your car, only to be left with a smeary mess that feels like you’ve stuck concrete all over the body? No matter how hard you try that polish haze will not shift!

I’ve been there over the years, which is why the news pieces on car care products on totalkitcar and in TKC Mag, bring you products that we know do work and come recommended.

One of my favourites and yep, I have to say, lives on my ‘go-to’ list is More >

BIG GUNS

Royal Warranted car-care expert Autoglym has released details of its latest detailing ‘must-have’ – the Polar Blaster snowfoam gun.

NEW COMPACT KARCHER

New from Kärcher is the K7 Compact model, which in essence their top-of-the-range K7 model in, er, compact form!

There’s no digital lance or detergent bottle cavity but the powerful, water-cooled 2.8kW motor remains and is still able to handle up to 550-litres of water per hour.

It’s small and easy to manoeuvre, but still has the same power as its big brother but not as wieldy. I think it’s possible to miss the features of the K7 Premier as the Compact version is so simple to use, by contrast.

The pack comes with 10-metres of kink-free hose, a line for your chosen More >
