Every year, there are accidents and avoidable near misses when drivers fail to realise that their indicators have ‘cancelled’ and they emerge from side roads to join faster traffic on a main road with nobody knowing which way they are headed.

This is often because the indicator audible warning is too quiet, or even silent. Only having a visual display means having to look away from what is happening ahead, and a lot can change in a very short time.

Gil Keane at Better Car Lighting has a pretty cool solution and his simple and highly effective upgrade costs just £35 inc VAT and comes with a money-back guarantee.

Better Car Lighting originally developed its flasher sounder to avoid the use of unpleasant buzzers and beepers in kit and classic cars when the indicators were upgraded to LED and had silent electronic flasher relays.

It has now been tweaked to work with all 12v indicator systems, to ensure that drivers are always aware whether or not their indicators are on. These units make a traditional ‘tick-tock’ sound, have only three connections and are quick and easy to install.

They are designed, developed and manufactured in-house by BCL in Warwickshire.
