IT’LL BE DANCING GIRLS AND DRY ICE NEXT!

Fresh from the launch of their staggeringly good Evolution model, Ultima Sports haven’t been resting on their laurels despite a three year waiting list for fully built cars and have made some changes to their packages, which now include longer front wishbones and revised suspension geometry and a faster steering rack, which now gives 2.1 rather than 2.4 turns lock-to-lock.

Ultima boss, Richard Marlow says that the changes give more front end bite while also making the cars more compliant in feel.

THAT’S SWEET, REALLY SWEEEEEET!

Paul Marriott and Wayne Francis are the men behind the new Sweet Rides Customs who took their show debut at Stoneleigh last weekend.

Their colourful stand featuring Paul’s outstanding MEV Rocket attracted lots of visitors. The duo can offer carbon and GRP parts such as seats and wings, painting and hydro-dipping among many other services.

The parts seem right as do their prices and they were extremely happy with the response to their new venture at the show.

Their latest introduction is a Mazda MX-5 speed sensor that means you can use the standard speedo cable without mucking around as it’s a simple plug and play unit that costs just £35 inc VAT.

It joins the Birmingham-based operation’s line-up of Smiths and KOSO, the latter for whom they are official UK distributor.

AN EXCITING ‘NU DIMENSION’!

Exciting new launch at Stoneleigh this week is the GTB from new manufacturer, A Nu Dimension, which turns a sheddy Porsche Boxster (986 generation) into a 911 GT3 lookalike.

Old Boxsters are two a penny and although they are a more than decent car they can suffer from a few foibles that can and does toast the engine. Now, get an old one that has been sorted and/or well maintained and it makes for a very sound donor vehicle.

The man behind A Nu Dimension is ex-DNA co-director, Roland Smith so the quality of this one is almost guaranteed, such is his More >

MAKE AN IMPACT

As used by the Laser Tools Racing team in the British Touring Car Championship, this high powered, professional quality, cordless impact gun (part number 6314) features hammer action and forward/reverse control.

The racing team technicians like this impact gun because of its compact size and low weight which provides more control and usability. However, most of all they like its ability to deliver 2400 blows per minute with a staggering 750 Nm of torque —  punch you’d normally expect from an air-powered impact wrench. This makes for very fast wheel changing!

Thus it is ideal for professional workshop use, particularly important for More >

IT’S A FIGHTER

Nice wheel for a kitcar

MOMO has just announced its new Dark Fighter Wood steering wheel, which is a cutting edge design with a classic twist – or maybe a classic design with a cutting edge twist, depending on your point of view?

Either way it combines a style that is suited to a classic or kitcar, with a modern ergonomic design and utilises attractive and practical materials.

Naturally it has been produced in Italy from the finest materials – a combination of air leather and mahogany wood with a black ‘air leather’ centre pad surrounding the iconic MOMO Italy horn push button.

YOU SAY ‘PLUG WIRES’ WE SAY ‘PLUG LEADS’!

Plug leads take a lot of abuse, especially from engine heat as they are right there next to the exhaust, it’s the poor old spark plug boots that get it the worst. Often they’ll give up before the rest of the wire set does.

Taylor has come up with a solution. The Extreme Series ignition wires feature ceramic boots that can withstand temperatures up to 2000 degrees F, well past the point where conventional boots would simply fail. That’s a huge plus for racing and vehicles with supercharged or turbocharged engines.

Summit Racing offers two types of Taylor Extreme Series leads: ThunderVolt More >
