I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dave Walker for many years and he’s done a couple of jobs for us on our project cars – GTM Spyder and our current Abster, with the latter’s K-Series engine now making around 198bhp from its 1.8-litre VVC, thanks to Jenvey throttle bodies and one of Dave’s Emerald M3D K6 mappable ECUs.

Glorious late September weather saw thousands pour through the gates for the annual two day all-action Sywell Pistons & Props weekend of high octane displays.

Whatever your preference, whether two-wheel or four, on the ground or in the air, the action kept coming thick and fast. On display saw my own 2017 triple award winning Lotus Seven-inspired Hardtop Coupé development with Patrick Morgan’s race-winning Penske PC23 Indy 500 racecar as driven by former F1 World Champion and Indy 500 race winner Emerson Fittipaldi.
