EXCLUSIVE – Regular readers know that we’ll be building an RPS RPX as a magazine project car this year and we have also tested the company’s demonstrator at a rainy Cadwell Park circuit.

Having exclusive use of the iconic Lincolnshire track was a luxury and the MG TF-based body conversion behaved impeccably. Mechanically the car is pretty much standard TF 160-spec although RPS has added an ITG Maxogen air filter system, which frees up a bit more power.

I also enjoyed putting the car through its paces on the flowing roads around the circuit. It always nice to get a FIRST DRIVE, especially so when it includes road and track…

Prices for the RPX kit have been announced and a complete kit of GRP panels costs £1034 (the new hardtop will more than likely cost £5-600) although the company will sell each portion separately, meaning that if you don’t want to give your TF the full treatment you can mix and match.

Therefore, a front bumper costs £185, a rear bumper £190 or bonnet £120, making for a versatile and extremely pleasing on the eye package.

Now I have to get back to making plans for the build, which will appear in instalments in TKC MAG from this summer.
