Dunno about you, but I get really cheesed off with car batteries. Great big heavy things that aren’t cheap to replace these days and even expensive ones can leave you high and dry just when you need your car most. Typically on a freezing cold morning or when you have an important appointment.

I found a solution several years ago when I started using the products of regular kitcar showgoers, Powervamp, and the Weston-super-Mare-based company offer a fine range of advanced dry-cell batteries that as the name implies don’t have liquid acid sloshing around within their cells.

It’s all clever stuff and More >

Exhausts UK, a Sheffield-based master of the extraction of gases from your engines (see how I neatly swerved repeating the word ‘exhaust’ there?!) are a company whose work I am seeing more and more as I travel around testing kitcars.

The first example of their work I saw was on Scoobybits’ SDR V-Storm demonstrator and it really was a first class, efficient and cosmetically spot-on job of installing an exhaust to a car that could pose packaging issues to the unwary, thanks to its mid-engined configuration.

Since then, all over the country, I’ve seen cars with an Exhausts UK sticker sitting proudly More >
