You may have seen our breaking news on Tuesday morning about the Westfield brand being saved and purchased by Dutch company, Driving Fun.

Founded in 2006 by Peter Tunissen, Driving Fun is one of Europe’s busiest trackday operators with over 100 events per year, most of which take place at their HQ, across the border into Germany at Circuit Meppen.
For the record, Driving Fun also owns two hotels at the Nürburgring – DF am Ring (right next to the castle) and Green Corner Nürburg (300 metres farther down the road). Peter races in the long-established and popular Westfield Cup race series in the Netherlands. He also estimates that there are over 300 Westfield owners in the Netherlands. Driving Fun uses a fleet of Westfields for their Arrive & Drive clients at Circuit Meppen, so they are well-versed in the joys of the brand.
Contrary to what some of the doom-mongers said when the acquisition was announced, Peter is soon to appoint a UK agent, who’ll act as the Westfield ‘hub’ and be able to supply kits and most importanly, spare parts thus avoiding EU importation regulations.

A new website and also a brand new factory is being constructed at Meppen and a Westfield Jamboree (don’t use that word very often on totalkitcar.com!) will take place over the weekend of August 21-23, when he aims to have something tangible to show people. He’s also keen to invite UK Westfield owners to the event.
Peter told me this week: “Westfield has an incredible heritage of building pure and focused driver’s cars, and has a large fan base and a wonderfully enthusiastic owners club, which all combined give a tremendously strong foundation to build a beautiful, thriving company, which we are very enthusiastic to work on in the coming years.”
In the meantime, you can contact Driving Fun via westfieldsportscars@circuitmeppen.com ENDS.
