Meet the new D2R from Lincolnshire-based Lunico Cars run by John Moriarty.
John’s been building kitcars since 2015, but his passion has developed into a fully-fledged business. He’s built a lot of kits for other people, too. The D2R is his first product under the Lunico Cars banner.
The car has a bespoke, folded-type chassis and is based on Audi R8 running gear with dampers from Gaz Shocks. Power for the demo car is a Porsche Cayenne-spec 4.5-litre twin turbo. Horsepower? Well, I’m not entirely sure but it’s going to be crushingly quick isn’t it?
Body kits start at £9500 with a body/chassis combo from £17,000. John told me: “I do 100 per cent of the car to get it on the road, including all the handles, hinges, acrylics and so on.
