Peter James Insurance has announced an exclusive partnership with the 2CVGB Club to create a new club insurance scheme specifically designed for the owners of 2CV, Dyane, Ami, Mehari, Bijou cars (Ed’s note: I assume this applies to kitcars based on same? Worth checking).

The organisation represents the interests of all historic Citroën A-series cars in the UK and has around 2200 members. The club was formed in 1978 and carries out important work to preserve the future of these historic vehicles by sharing technical knowledge and ensuring continued access to increasingly rare spare parts. The club also keeps an extensive archive of 2CV-related documents and maintains registers to record the UK-registered vehicles still in existence.

Peter James Insurance has an unrivalled reputation for the provision of specialist classic and vintage vehicle insurance and has been at the heart of the historic vehicle community for over four decades. This close relationship gives the team an understanding of the importance of membership-based organisations, like the 2CVGB Club, that form the backbone of the car community.

They understand that clubs must ensure their activities and members’ needs are well funded to offer exclusive membership benefits that add value to annual subscriptions – and will be working with the club to achieve that also.

It’s clear that the 2CVGB Club is incredibly active throughout the year, so this cover should allow owners of these quirky little cars the peace of mind to enjoy all that the Club’s activities have to offer.

Many tailored features, such as member-to-member cover, are important to the Club, as is encouraging the next generation of enthusiasts. The scheme therefore includes the option to drive another club member’s A-series and will offer young drivers various levels of cover, including accompanied driver cover.

Dave Youngs, Partnerships Director at Peter James Insurance said:
“It’s been an incredibly exciting past few months working with 2CVGB to create a new club insurance scheme specifically designed for their members. These features are specifically designed to support the future preservation and enjoyment of these cars that as we all know, are as brimming with personality as their owners are!”
