Brand new gearbox from American transmission meisters, Tremec is the He-man-spec TKX range.

Although many UK enthusiasts with kitcars powered by a V8 engine will be more than family with the Tremec products, the likes of the TKO and TKO II are actually revisions of OEM ‘boxes.

The TKX has been developed exclusively for the performance aftermarket. The five-speed manual is capable of handling over 8000rpm and has the capability of having the gearlever mounted in a variety of positions so as best to suit the application.

It replaces the T-56 Magnum gearbox and is a whole 13.66kg lighter and is available to suit a cross-channel ferry’s worth of Ford and Chevy applications with Mopar versions to follow.
