news_aeroloc_1There are few forms of motor racing that haven’t utilised the Dzus fastener in its 80-year history, where it has almost become a household name in the motorsport industry.

However, engineers at Specialty Fasteners, working with their production partners Camloc, have come up with what they claim is a 21st century alternative – AeroLoc.

The key to the product is the use of a cross-head stud, which all but eliminates the risk of damaging expensive body panels and, by using a cam receptacle, consistent fastening performance is guaranteed. AeroLoc is also available with a bail handle for hand operation, where use of a screwdriver is difficult or regulations demand.

The new AeroLoc self-ejecting fastener is interchangeable with the Dzus EHF5 series and the maker’s claim that it is more secure when fastened, thus negating the occasional need for tank tape to keep it in position. So retro-fitting is not only possible but is designed in.

Sales manager for Specialty Fasteners, Graham Leo, has no doubt that his company are on to a winner: “We have had the product under test for some while now and the results have been conclusive enough to convince us that AeroLoc will be a game-changer in the area of panel fastening, in much the same way as our AeroCatch.”

AeroLoc is available now from www.AeroLoc.co.uk or 01803 868 677 ENDS.
