warm welcome to totalkitcar online … Delighted to hear some great news this week when it was announced that the GTM Cars marque was returning to productionafter it was rescued from the receivership of Westfield Chesil by Lincolnshire-based Winterton Speed Shop. We reproduce their press release below.

WELCOME TO TOTALKITCAR ONLINE

Incidentally, the response on our Facebook page confirms what I have thought for a long time that there remains a huge amount of love for the GTM marque …

STAMFORD, UK — July 7, 2026 — GTM Cars, the legendary British mid-engined car marque, has been officially acquired by specialist automotive builder Winterton Bros Speed Shop Ltd.

The historic brand has been rescued from the liquidation of Westfield Chesil Ltd. The acquisition secures all brand rights, intellectual property, styling moulds, and manufacturing jigs for the recent GTM models – including the Libra, Spyder and Ballista.

This purchase signals a dual commitment to the kitcar community: supplying much-needed legacy replacement components to the active GTM family while engineering a new generation of up to date, agile, and attractive sports cars.

Winterton Bros Speed Shop Ltd, highly regarded for their bespoke engineering projects and custom EV vehicle conversions, plans to revitalise the GTM brand by blending its classic lightweight British heritage with cutting-edge engineering.

Max Winterton, director at Winterton Bros said: “GTM Cars represents a brilliant chapter in British automotive and specialist engineering history. We are thrilled to bring this historic marque under our roof. Our initial focus is supporting existing owners with high-quality spares, but we are also mapping out an exciting future that aligns GTM’s lightweight, driver-focused DNA with modern performance capabilities.”

Initial manufacturing and parts support operations will be integrated into Winterton Bros’ workshop facilities. A dedicated digital portal for GTM parts requests and restoration project logs is scheduled to go live later this year.

HAVE YOU SEEN OUR NEW GOODS & SUPPLIERS A-Z DIRECTORY YET? See the menu bar above or CLICK HERE.

I know that lots of readers used our GOODS & SUPPLIERS listing as a guide to the specialist car aftermarket, so essential did they regard it. It needed an upgrade but it took a couple of years to get it right.

GOODS & SUPPLIERS is BACK. It’s certainly less wieldy, is easier to use and well, see what you think. It’s not yet complete by any means but is a workable and useful A-Z listing that I hope you enjoy using and check back regularly because I will be adding to it daily, almost.

Our popular TRACKDAY CALENDAR is where you can find out where, when and how much by CLICKING HERE. Now updated to cover JULY, AUGUST & SEPTEMBER 2026.

SNIPPETS 1 …….. Leading automotive distributor, JRP Distribution, has launched its 2026 catalogue packed full of more than 400 new products, alongside its existing 4000 portfolio, as well as introducing its new brands.

Operating from its purpose built warehouse in Chichester (it’s a BIG ‘un – Ed), JRP distributes an extensive range of automotive accessories, performance enhancers, air fresheners and detailing products from Ecomotive, FRSH Scents, Invisible Glass, Simply Brands and Stoner Car Care.

Alongside this sits their comprehensive range of repair and maintenance products from Autobar, JB Weld, Quixx and Tecniks – many of which are also suitable for use beyond the automotive market.

The brands continually add new products to the ranges in response to both market and customer demands, with 400 new products being introduced this year.

Alongside its current brands, JRP Distribution has announced three new brands will be incorporated into its portfolio.

Announced earlier this year was FRSH Scents’ acquisition of Carfume, a luxury car fragrance brand, which will now be distributed by JRP Distribution. Between FRSH and Carfume, JRP Distribution can satisfy all the needs of the air freshener market.

Simply Living Sprays has also been launched this year, which includes a large selection of spray paints, that are available in a matt or gloss finish.

Finally, SBxPro is the latest brand introduced to the aftermarket. The range includes maintenance sprays, alongside wiper blades and is targeted at technicians requiring a premium quality and dependable product portfolio.

JRP’s Ollie Page commented: “We regularly review and improve our product offering, so that we can supply the aftermarket with the products it needs. We’re confident in these products and by introducing three new brands, we’re pleased to be able to increase the coverage we provide the retail, motor trade and workshop space.

“We enjoy many fantastic relationships within the aftermarket and retail spaces and our product ranges reflect what they’re seeking from us. So, as we introduce new products, our catalogue continues to grow every single year! Traditionally we have found that having all of our products in one location is helpful for many of our customers, so we’re thrilled to publish our 2026 catalogue – and I’m sure it’ll be even bigger next year!

“To further assist our customers, we also run monthly and seasonal promotions throughout the year, which are timed to help customers maximise their sales, so they need to keep an eye out for our emails and social media activity.”

The catalogue is available to order online, or it can be downloaded here: https://jrpdistribution.co.uk/catalogues/jrp-catalogue-26-27

We continue to have a fantastic range of classic and modern motoring shows for our visitors and enthusiasts to enjoy throughout July and August! There really is something for everyone this summer, and fingers crossed the sun will keep shining”.
