Two new high-speed air-pencil die grinders from Laser Tools deliver precision grinding performance in a compact, low-noise format. Launched as part of the company’s 50th anniversary range, the 9419 and 9420 models are designed for detailed work in confined areas, combining high rpm capability with improved operator comfort.
Both tools feature a pencil-style design with an integrated exhaust hose, which helps reduce noise levels and directs exhaust air away from the workpiece – particularly useful for precision tasks where debris disturbance must be minimised. Their compact size and lightweight construction make them ideal for fine grinding, deburring, porting and cleaning applications across automotive and engineering environments.
The two models are tailored for different types of work:
The 9419 (30,000rpm) is the more versatile option, supplied with a 6mm collet and 3mm reducer, allowing use of a wider range of burr sizes. It is ideal for general-purpose grinding where flexibility is key (weight: 0.38kg).
The 9420 (60,000rpm) is a higher-speed, ultra-lightweight (0.23kg) tool with a 3mm collet, designed for fine-detail work requiring precision and control. Its Kevlar rotor blades enhance durability at higher speeds.
Both models operate at a recommended 90psi (6.3 bar) and offer low vibration levels (1.8m/s²), supporting controlled, fatigue-reduced operation during extended use.
