A warm welcome to totalkitcar online … Caterham Cars has announced a new workshop partnership with Würth UK.

Caterham Cars has announced a new strategic partnership with Würth UK, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of assembly tools, fastening technology and workshop solutions. The collaboration marks an important step in further enhancing the efficiency, precision and quality of Caterham’s manufacturing operations at its Dartford X facility.
The partnership was formally signed at the prestigious ADAC 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring, one of motorsport’s most iconic events. To mark the occasion, Würth UK hosted a brand activation within the Caterham Nürburgring showroom, while Würth UK Managing Director, Omar Edris, joined the pre-race parade on the world-famous Nordschleife in Caterham’s recently launched Seven 340 Nürburgring Edition.

Through the integration of Würth’s premium products, workshop systems and inventory management solutions, Caterham’s highly skilled assembly technicians will benefit from enhanced operational efficiency and greater precision throughout the vehicle build process. The partnership reinforces Caterham’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality and performance across every Seven produced.
Caterham’s manufacturing operation will now be fully supported by Würth’s extensive portfolio of industry-leading solutions, including:
Tools and power tools
Fasteners and fixings
Workshop consumables
Chemicals and lubricants
Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety products
ORSY workshop organisation and vending solutions

Beyond Caterham’s headquarters and manufacturing facility, Würth’s presence will extend across the Caterham Motorsport UK paddock throughout the racing season. Würth products and workshop solutions will be utilised within the championship’s technical support garages at every race event, helping to ensure the highest standards of preparation, maintenance and performance support for Caterham race cars both on and off the track.
Trevor Steel, Senior Vice President of Operations at Caterham Cars, said:
“Partnering with Würth UK represents a significant step forward in the continual development of our manufacturing processes. Their reputation for quality, reliability and innovation aligns perfectly with Caterham’s own values. By integrating Würth’s products and workshop solutions throughout our production facility, we are enhancing efficiency while ensuring every Seven continues to be built to the exceptional standards our customers expect.”
Omar Edris, Managing Director of Würth UK, added:
“We are delighted to partner with Caterham, a brand that shares our commitment to quality, precision and performance. This collaboration demonstrates how Würth supports specialist automotive manufacturers not only through industry-leading products, but also through innovative workshop solutions that drive efficiency and productivity. Launching this partnership at the Nürburgring, one of motorsport’s most celebrated venues, makes this an especially exciting milestone for both organisations.”

The Caterham and Würth partnership reflects a commitment to supporting performance both on the track and behind the scenes, combining Caterham’s iconic driving experience with Würth’s expertise in workshop products, systems and solutions.

This week in CLASSIC KIT CARS & SPECIALS we look at a criminally underrated genius called Ken Nichols, a purveyor of chassis and suspension know-how in the sixties. SNIPPETS 1 ……..With Christmas just a few months away, the art of responsible enjoyment of alcohol is understanding its effect on the body and to know when you’re safe to drive ‘the morning after the night before’.
The AlcoSense Elite 3 personal breathalyser helps people do exactly that and takes out any potentially fatal guesswork. It features the highest specification of semi-conductor alcohol sensor technology available. Easy to use, it fits in the palm of your hand with a colour-coded results system – and will alert you when you’re near to or over the legal limit.

The AlcoSense Elite 3 has inbuilt air flow sensors to increase the accuracy of the breathalyser and if you don’t blow for long enough, the breathalyser will alert you and you can re-take the test. It automatically performs a deep clean, helping to keep the sensor in top condition and reading at its most accurate.
Available from Halfords, Amazon.co.uk and AlcoSense.co.uk.

SNIPPETS 2 …….TyreSafe is launching Tyre Safety Month with a stark warning to UK motorists: many drivers are overconfident in their ability to stop safely – despite a widespread misunderstanding of how vehicles behave in real-world conditions.
New research shows that while 83% of drivers believe they are in full control of their vehicle’s stopping distance, only 6% can correctly identify how much extra distance is needed to stop in wet conditions at motorway speeds.

In reality, stopping distances can increase dramatically in the rain – yet 94% of drivers underestimate this risk, with many misjudging by significant margins.
This gap between perception and reality is being seen across all regions of the UK, highlighting a national issue around driver awareness and vehicle readiness.
Stuart Lovatt, Chair of TyreSafe, said, “Many drivers and riders believe they are in control -but that confidence is often misplaced. Stopping distances in wet conditions can be far greater than expected, and tyres play a critical role in that equation.
“If your tyres are not properly maintained, your ability to stop safely is significantly reduced – no matter how confident you feel behind the wheel.”
TyreSafe is urging drivers to take simple preventative action by checking their tyres regularly, particularly ahead of seasonal changes and increased rainfall.

Call to action:
Drivers are encouraged to follow the ACT message:
Air pressure
Condition
Tread depth
Act before you REact.
