The Jaguar XK V12 engine is silky smooth and a superb unit. However, it can fall foul of a couple of issues that turn the silky running a little lumpen if not sorted. One of the potential issues is a worn-out throttle-position sensor (TPS) that in addition to a rough tick-over, can manifest itself with hesitation when accelerating.
Jaguar parts specialist SNG Barrett is now selling a Lucas Throttle Potentiometer Upgrade Kit (part EAC2670U/1), which will smooth out your XK V12 (particularly the XJ-S V12 and XJ12 S3 variants.
SNG Barrett says that it is more reliable than the OEM sensor. The unit costs £147.60 and delivers a stronger signal to the car’s ECU, improving engine performance and efficiency.
