The Princess-spec brake caliper – a great way to get four-pot calipers onto your Ford-based kitcar – has always been a very popular fitment. However, originals are now old and hard to get in usable condition.
The aftermarket can help, such as Rally Design (Wilwood) and Hi-Spec Motorsport, but a new alternative comes from the MGOC via their Q Parts Performance division.

They are offering brand new MG RV8-spec four-pot AP/Princess front brake set up. Two versions are available – as per original in cast iron and an alloy variant, which is much lighter.
As they are MG RV8-derived the calipers have internal porting, which means you don’t need a cumbersome external link pipe like the originals had.
They have 10mm spacers built-in and they’ll accept parts like the uprated Ford Capri 2.8i or Group 1 vented discs without modificaton.
Q Parts can also supply performnce brake pads, fitting kits and all accessories. The cast iron ones are priced from £74.95 per caliper (GBC901824/10) with the alloy items costing £99.95 per caliper (GBC90183/10A).
