The 9290 1/2in drive is the lighter, more compact option for everyday garage use where 1/2in drive sockets are standard and access is tighter. The 9291 3/4in drive is the heavier-duty choice for larger fixings and commercial vehicle work, making it especially well-suited to HGVs and other high-torque applications.
Both models feature a twin hammer mechanism, 8500rpm free speed and a nut-busting torque of 2200Nm, giving technicians the breaking power needed for stubborn fasteners. The 1/2in drive model delivers 1080Nm working torque and 1283Nm maximum torque, while the 3/4in drive version provides 1013Nm working torque and 1215Nm maximum torque. Despite their output, they remain impressively light at just 1.7kg for the 9290 and 1.8kg for the 9291 and feature 8500rpm free speed and 5.5cfm air consumption at 90psi.
The choice between the two comes down to the job. Choose the 9290 for broader workshop versatility, lower weight and compatibility with the most common socket size in car and van servicing. Choose the 9291 when the priority is maximum drive strength and larger fasteners, particularly in heavy-vehicle maintenance.
