Lego has just announced a model of the Ford GT40 MkII [set number 42223] a lovely little brick rendition of the 1966 Le Mans winning GT40 MKII in period coreect livery (for the record, it was chassis number P/1046).
This one is smaller than some of Lego’s other vehicle sets, at 1:18 scale, although it still contains a whopping 793 individual pieces. One additional plus point is that 1:18 is a decent scale to find shelf space for.
The Lego GT40 MkII is part of the Technic range and this means it’s aimed at adult collectors and as a result feature opening panels and a few neat ‘mechanical’ touches such as working steering and a V8 engine with some moving components.
