A hot-rodder’s work is never done. Fortunately Summit Racing has some new brand tools to install and remove valve springs..

Installing and removing valve springs – especially the big ones with high spring loads – can be a monster job if you don’t have a good compressor tool. There are plenty of bad ones to choose from! Those types of valve springs can cause a poorly-designed tool to flex or even bend, sending a valve spring flying around the shop.
You won’t have that issue with a Summit Racing Pro Billet Valve Spring Compressor. Designed for use with cylinder heads off the engine, the tool is made from strong billet aluminum to eliminate flex, even with large 1.645in diameter triple valve springs.
There is a handle on each end to adjust the compressor to fit a wide variety of cylinder heads. The handles also have long- and short-throw positions for either speed or additional leverage, which is also nice.
The Pro Billet compressor has a tapered seat to accommodate retainers ranging from .850in to 1.650in diameter. The pitch of the threaded shaft creates enough leverage to compress springs with loads of up to 1000lbs (454kg). The standard spring cage fits most small – and big- block V8 cylinder heads and has a bearing style end to reduce friction.
