NEW ENGINE RANGE FROM PRODEV ENGINEERING

After a year of dyno-testing and development Prodev Engineering has announced their new DuraPro 2-litre engine. These are bolt-in replacements for the obsolete Ford Duratec 2-litre engine.

These brand new engines are hand-built from all new components sourced from all over the world. Each engine is meticulously put together starting with a bare block, crank and cylinder head. Higher compression 10.8:1 pistons are used in all engines.

The cylinder heads are assembled using either Ford or Kent Cams valve springs. The block and crank assembly are assembled using King or equivalent main and big end bearings. ARP big end bolts are fitted to all engines as standard. The head is fitted to the block using a Reinz head gasket and Elring head bolts. A water pump and crank sensor are then fitted. A transverse sump is supplied as standard but ProDev, run by former Omex Technology MD, Richard Wragg, can offer the full range of Raceline wet and dry sumps as required.

Retail price is £2740 plus VAT

They also offer a special version to engine builders who wish to build their own engines. These are bare units loosely assembled so there is no spending time cleaning off sealant and thread lock. This version requires full assembly and is an ideal basis for a competition engine where uprated parts are to be fitted and the engine is being built from scratch.

Retail price is £2100 plus VAT

Richard told me: “We have worked with Westfield Chesil to develop three specific versions for their new Se.NA range and are delighted that they are the standard fitment for their new car.

“We shall also be offering fully built ‘turnkey’ versions of these engines with power outputs from 180- to 250bhp over the next few months.
