Here are our pictorial highlights from Malvern 2025. Next year’s dates are May 30/31, 2026.

Not many showgrounds have such a lovely view out

Seeing this very nice Bertini it reminded of what a tasteful body conversion it was. A nice way to dress up an old BMW Z3. It’s a shame that the rear suspension of the later Z4 Mk2 doesn’t lend itself to an updated Bertini.

I know it’s not a kitcar, but I still really like the Vauxhall VX220 (built by Lotus). This one had been on the end of some engine mods, which meant it has over 300bhp.

I love the way the VX220 owner has used this turquoise pinstriping tape to contrast the silver paint.

Talking of Lotus, I’m very much a historic Lotus enthusiast but if I had to pick a modern model, I’d opt for an Exige S1. Feels and sounds like a scaled-down Le Mans racer. I can even forgive it for the fact that it’s a nightmare to crawl into and a total disaster to get out of.

Michael Farrow, the boss of Equilibrium Sportscars, is nearly ready to market his revised Sonic 7 and brought it to the show and parked it in the club area marked ‘various’. I really like what he’d done to the car …

Some really cool touches in the Sonic 7 cockpit. I love that switch panel to the left of the steering wheel.

Always good to see the Covin Owners Club at larger show. This is a tidy example.

Another fantastic turn out of beach buggies. This photo was taken 40 minutes before the show opened to the public. Within an hour this area was rammed.

A very tidy Vindicator

Totally bonkers Dutch-registered device powered by a Subaru 3-litre engine

Another much-missed marque of yesteryear, Lomax. Here’s a lovely 223 model

Really like the look of this special called the Midlana. Full feature on this car coming up in a future issue of TKC MAG

Cyclekarts GB had a very good display at the show, highlighting how much fun these historic karts powered by a Honda GX200 engine

A legendary kitcar if ever there was one. The Richard Oakes-designed Nova

Talking of Mr Oakes. Here’s a lovely Rossa K3, another car he designed. This one was for sale.

You don’t see many Carisma Centurys [sic] around these days

Huge Apologies to Anthony at Crendon Replicas as I had a camera malfunction on the Crendon stand as the photo looked like I took it at midnight! However, here’s a beautiful example of the Crendon breed to make up for it.
