Kitcar enthusiasts used to be happy working on our driveways, carports and basic single garages but in recent years our perceptions have changed and well-equipped garages, often with heating, tiles (or carpet) and various other equipment designed to make our leisure work a breeze.

Once the preserve of professionals, more sophisticated enthusiast-level kit has never been more affordable, so it is with stuff like ramps and vehicle lifts. Fifteen years ago, I would never have seen such things in a kitcar builder’s armoury.

Thanks to lifts becoming more accessible and not necessarily cost-prohibitive many people can now aspire to one. The arrival of quality German manufacturer Twin-Busch in the UK is very noteworthy.

Founded in 1997 in Bensheim (not far from Mannheim) the company has risen to a very prominent position in their homeland – indeed, they are number one in their sector in Europe) also has a branch in France, too. The UK operation is located in Kettering and they can supply the full range of Twin-Busch products.

Two-post lifts start at £1299 inc VAT with four-posts from £2399 inc VAT. They also offer single-post lifts (from £2399 inc VAT) and scissor lifts (from £1699). They also produce stuff such as wheel balancers, tyre changers and general garage equipment.
