There seems to be a lot of buzz around the new RS Retro RS200 replica, and quite rightly so, as the quality is superb.

However, it’s not the only RS200 clone that you can buy in the UK currently. There are at least two others.

One of them, the MRS200, was developed for a customer by the superstar that is Chris Welch of Tribute Automotive before he sold the project on.

It’s unusual in being a body conversion based around Toyota MR2 Mk3 Roadster and is now being made by Lee Hwozdyk of Rochdale, Lancashire and he’s busy preparing a demonstrator.

In the meantime, a remarkably competitive £2500 buys you the kit which includes front bumper, front bonnet, two headlight bowls, front four-lamp pod assembly, a pair of door outer panels, a pair of inner door panels, a pair of sill assemblies, roof and rear body assembly and a pair of A-pillar caps.

Lee has a very active Facebook page – search ‘MRS 200’ or you can also find out more via www.mrs200.com ENDS.
