Leading trackday operator, Javelin Trackdays has un-veiled a new airfield venue to add to their portfolio.

Javelin boss, Colin Jepson has always been good at sniffing at new circuits and he’s just added Kendrew Barracks to his list of venues.

Better-known as RAF Cottesmore, located next to the A1 in Rutland, Oakham, the old RAF base closed in 2012 but was then handed over to the Army’s Multi-Role Brigade led initially by the Royal Anglian Regiment and latterly joined by 7Rg Royal Logistics Corps in June 2013.

Kendrew Barracks is the new name for RAF Cottesmore, as a result, named after Major-General Sir Douglas Kendrew and makes use of the billiard-table smooth tarmac, which utilises a 1.8-mile circuit.
