Many factory camshafts operate on the conservative side of performance due to emissions and drivability standards, which means that there’s more power to be gained by adjusting the valve timing, especially if the engine has been modified in any way.

Fidanza cam-gears for the Mazda MX-5 1.8-litre DOHC engine are designed to be adjusted and are manufactured to tighter tolerances than OE gears. Laser-etched timing marks are provided for precise tuning with 12-degrees of both advance and retard.

The cam gears are precision CNC-machined from high grade 6061 T6 aluminium for exact fitment, light weight and increased durability­.

The outer gear-teeth are bevelled for increased belt life and hard anodised coated for a longer service life. Stainless steel, socket head studs allow for easy adjustment.
