Body kit maestros, Turismo UK came to this year’s Stoneleigh show with a brand-new version of their GT RS, this time a convertible, which joins the existing fixed-head, Evolution GT (Boxster-based) and Avalanche GT (Toyota MR2-based).

Based around a Porsche 911 (996 Generation 2 variant), the GT RS Convertible attracted a lot of attention at the show looking resplendent in its Porsche Miami Blue paintwork (yep, I’m a sucker for turquoise).

It’s a body conversion kit, so avoids the need for IVA, and those panels can be supplied in GRP or carbon-fibre, with lots of components now made in-house courtesy of Turismo’s Total Custom UK arm.

A suitable convertible donor can be had from around £12,000 – £15,000 and to that you’d add the Turismo kit at £10,000 (the company is currently running a special offer promotion until the end of May 2018 at £7995) and then paint, wheels and tyres (circa £4000), coil over damper kit (circa £1000) and stainless steel exhaust (circa £1000), while the demo car also featured a bespoke interior (contact Turismo for details on that one).

A 996 Carrera 2 S in 3.6-litre guise will give a cool 360bhp or thereabouts, thus endowing the GT RS with suitable power to match the looks. Lots of nice touches abound on the demo car such as the rear spoiler and 40mm lift rams that help with speed bumps.

Total Custom also offers a fitting service, paint and anything else you require in relation to a GT RS build.
