There’s been a few ingenious and let’s be honest, pretty good alternative DIY/home car storage solutions of late, including Clarke’s temporary garage range and the brilliant Roll-Out Trailer.

The latest and one that really fills a gap in the market is absolutely ideal for kit or racecar owners, is the CarapaceÒ (meaning the hard-shell of a crustacean, incidentally) from Jeran Innovations.

It’s a unique GRP structure created for those who have storage and/or parking issues such as no garage or no space to build one and it also keeps a car safely tucked away but also protected from prying eyes and the worst the weather can chuck at it.

The standard Carapace comes with a front-opening door via gas strut and is supplied in Granite Grey, with the £6000 inc VAT price including installation at your property but not delivery, which depends on where you live.

Optional no cost RAL colours are – Moss Green, Purple Red and Sapphire Blue. A variety of options are available including the addition of a side door (takes the price to £6600 inc VAT), inter-locking floor-tiles at £379.20 inc VAT and extra wheel plates at £36 per pair (a wheel plate and wheel space are included in the standard price).

It can easily accommodate a small to medium-sized car with a door height of 1.55m with the vital dimensions being – Internal: length: 487cm, width: 196cm, height: 185cm

External: length: 487cm, width: 218cm, height: 186cm.
