If there was one decisive move that made Tim Dutton stand out from the rest it was the introduction of mass production techniques that he had learnt from his five year Indentured Apprenticeship as a Tool Maker at Pressed Steel Ltd, Swindon.
At the time all four Dutton factories were completely stripped and remodelled.
Simply put:- steel tube, resin and mat goes in one end and a complete kit goes out of the other, as many as 22 a week (in the golden age of kitcars!).

Meanwhile, The Specialist Car Centre Ltd www.thespecialistcarcentre.com handles all things pre-owned, servicing, new/used parts and the issuing of the all new ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ scheme available to everyone, covering all Duttons made since 1970 to expose and remove all the illegal fake Duttons that are still being driven around (and there are a lot).”
