If you want to bag a Caterham Seven with a Ford Sigma 1.6-litre engine, it’s best to get your skates on as the company’s stock of the venerable Ford motor is dwindling fast and the Seven 310 Encore model is your last chance to bag a Seven thus equipped.

Caterham’s engineers have made the Encore extra special as you’d expect. They’ve given the runout version (limited to just 25 cars) more power rated at 152bhp achived via use of ratchet cams and a tweak of the MBE-supplied ECU.

Visually, the Encore gets the vented nosecone from the 420 Cup model and it is also available in some exclusive song-influenced colours (not sure how I feel about that to be honest) such as ‘Back in Black’ and yikes, ‘Yellow Brick Road’.

You can also choose from standard S3 chassis or S5 aka wider SV. The car is available fully built from £43,339 or in component form from £39,995. More from www.caterhamcars.com ENDS.
