HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY – WOOLIES TRIM

This one delights me as it concerns our good friends at WOOLIES Trim, who celebrate a marvellous 50 Years of helping get and keep kitcars on the road in 2026. Everyone associates them with classic and vintage stuff but NEVER underestimate their impact on the kitcar industry.

WOOLIES – one of Britain’s best-known kitcar suppliers is celebrating a remarkable milestone this year as it reaches its 50th anniversary.

Founded in October 1976 by Ian and Caroline Woolstenholmes, the family business has spent five decades helping classic car enthusiasts, restorers and the motor trade all over the world supplying them with trim, upholstery and fittings. Products include sound deadening material, door and boot seals, carpet, edge trims, tonneau and hooding materials, wing pipings and self adhesive sponges to name just a few.

Woolies directors – and founders – left to right – co-director Duncan Allen, founder and co-director Ian Woolstenholmes, founder and co-director, Caroline Woolstenholmes and co-director, Louise Woolstenholmes Green.

What began in a double garage with ‘nominal stock, ultra-keen prices and lots of enthusiasm’ has grown into a globally recognised specialist supplier serving customers throughout the UK and internationally, orders despatched from the website have been sent to sixty countries worldwide and counting!

Today, the company is led by co-directors Duncan Allen and Louise Woolstenholmes Green, the founders daughter. However, Ian and Caroline still take a keen interest in the company: Ian told me: “We are really proud to have reached this impressive milestone, when we started up fifty years ago we had no idea the company would grow and still be successful all these years later.”

Meanwheile, Louise commented: “My parents started Woolies with a simple philosophy, to offer quality products, fair prices and customer service that is second to none. Those principles remain at the heart of everything we do today.”

All products are to be found on there website: www.woolies-trim.co.uk but if you prefer, a hard copy catalogue, now is the time to get one, as the company has released a special 50th Anniversary Edition still in the original compact format designed to fit in a glovebox or pocket.

An invaluable tool to the kitcar enthusiast. If you would like one please go to the website www.woolies-trim.co.uk or phone them on 01778 347 347.

Oh … and looking forward, the Company’s mission remains unchanged: helping build and preserve the nation’s motoring heritage, one restoration at a time ENDS.
