One of my favourite car care ranges is produced by German brand Sonax. They produce brilliant products that do what they say they’ll do on the label while offering superb value for money.
There are lots of Alcantara-covered seats kicking around in our industry, not to mention a growing number of dailiy drivers that feature them too. Once such car is my own VW Golf R Line.
Not sure if you have tried cleaning Alcantara and similar-type fabrics? If you are not careful you can get yourself into real trouble with cleaning it. Thanks to its unique pile, it can easily get overly soaked by conventional fabric cleaners.
If that happens, when it dries, you run the risk of ending up with a flat look to your Alcantara, which you will never fix.
Therefore, Sonax’s superb XTREME Upholstery and Alcantara Cleaner is a welcome addition to your car care armoury and works beautifully. It gently cleans the fabric regardless of whether it’s a seat, dashtop, door panels, headlining, steering wheel et al eliminates odours while leaving a fresh scent. Actually, it is perfectly fine to use on ordinary fabrics.
If Alcantara gets stained it can also be a devil to remove. I managed to get melted chocolate on my driver’s seat the other day. It wasn’t my fault, it was a boiling hot day! A quick spray of Sonax’s dedicated product and it disappeared.
It also managed to bring new life back to my car’s Alcantara seats, leaving them looking as a good as new. A brilliant product.
