Fans of Porsche might well be interested in the German marque’s celebration of the 917/20 and the legendary successor, the 911 RSR of 2018, aka ‘Pink Pig’. This one caught my eye.

The name came about after the Rossi family of sponsors, Martini & Rossi, weren’t happy having their iconic colours seen on 917/20 and, according to folklore, is what drove Porsche to dub the car the Pink Pig due to its stubby nose.

They took it further by drawing various cuts of pork on the car’s body and has since becoem one of the most famous race liveries of all, even though the original 917/20 only took part in one event – Le Mans 1971 – and retired from the race.
Anyway, various Pink Pig celebratory merchandise has been produced including thermos mugs [£49], thermal insulated bottle [£66] and a rather cool velour garage mat [from £80], right up to a classic 911 Pink Pig tribute bonnet at £3700!
