The oil contains a higher amount of Zinc/ZDDP (1300ppm) compared to the Castrol equivalent (of 800ppm. Thus it offers greater protection for classic engines and integral gearboxes.
This oil is close to the oil that BMC/Leyland recommended to overcome heavy oil consumption on Minis during the 1960’s period of warranty problems.
Mini Spares CLASSIC oil is in a class of its own when it comes to maintaining viscosity which thus reduces the risk of the oil leaks that plagued the mid-Sixties Minis.
Mini Spares CLASSIC oil has good mixing qualities with other oils and has a low-detergent cleaning chemical base to help protect small gearbox roller bearings and layshafts from abrasive wear.
