Greeting visitors as ‘Foyer Guardian’ this year was was this 1959 Sebring Fastback Healey. Or was it? Not quite. Race Retro marked the first public showing of the Austin Healey Fastback, described as a re-imagining of an original Frogeye special, by a company called Mythron Cars.

Prior to Race Retro the car had been in Zell Am See in Austria, ice racing. Mythron source a ‘donor’ car and completely restore and upgrade it, rebadging the cars as Sebring Fastbacks.
A 1275cc A+ engine provides the power and the Fast Road and Track versions will feature 1380cc versions, estimated to produce around 120bhp, while they’ll also have four-speed straight-cut gearboxes abd NeiL Slark race cylinder heads and a Mainflow exhaust system.

Weighing at just 620kg, the ‘track’ orientated versions will feature a stripped-out interior with an option of Tillett B8 carbon-fibre seats. Prices start at £65,000.
Meanwhile, the Fast Road version will have a more luxurious interior with leather seats and plus carpeting.

The West Sussex-based company are quoting a four-month lead time.

Just 32 will be built (sixteen fast road and sixteen fast road track examples). Available now from www.mythroncars.com or you can call them on 0207 240 1499 ENDS.
