Europa Engineering aka Banks Service Station, run by Richard Winter has announced that their superb Lotus Europa tribute projects, the Banks Europa Type 47R and Banks Europa Type 62S are up for sale.
Absolutely stunning cars, the Southport-based company know the Europa inside out and Richard has been producing them since 1992 in the Type 47’s case, with the hardcore Type 62S following a year later.
Underpinned by a spaceframe chassis with an added backbone section, much like the originals, with fabricated wishbones and SilentBloc bushes.
At the rear end, Richard used wide double-wishbones with in-house fabricated steel uprights with clevis joints.
The Type 62S was a lighter and more finely honed track-focused version, but equally as brilliant. Between the two models Richard has probably sold around 250 of these over the years, with the Type 47R taking the overwhelming share of the sales.
