I’ve been seeing a lot of AIM Technologies products lately and their MXL Strada digital dash-pod is being fitted to all sorts of kitcars. Right price; right product seems to be the message.

News this week of a new addition to their range in the shape of their MXS STRADA and it comes with a 5in colour display, high contrast TFT screen, an ambient light-sensor to keep the unit’s backlight at optimal brightness levels and stunning visual quality.

AIM has also tried to make installation as simple as possible. One of the fastest growing and newest clichés is ‘plug and play’ but in this case, the MXS unit just requires power, earth connecting to the ViM module and stuff like your indicators, lights and the like connected to the supplied wiring loom and you are good to go.

The trickiest part of the installation could be using a multimeter to measure relevant signals to set up items as your fuel gauge.

The MXS Strada is a fully IVA-compliant dash and is pre-configured to show items such as hazard lights, handbrake warning and indicators, just like your daily driver has and seems a snip at £900. Several options are available in a 23-pin analogue loom and GPS modules.
