NEW OLD NEW SPEEDSTER REPLICA!
May 11th
The Intermeccanica marque was established by Frank Reisner some 52-years ago and various models have appeared over the years. Perhaps their most successful has been the Speedster 356-A replica, launched in 1976…
The car is now available in the UK once more via St.Andrews, Fife-based Ian Miller, who can supply the 356-A in complete form now.
Ian was at Stoneleigh on the Speedster & Spyder Club stand where I had the chance to take a close look at the car and there’s no doubt that it really is an impressive vehicle, with wind-up windows, high-back seats and ‘hidden’ switches along with period More >

SNAKE BITE – XCS DESIGNS
May 3rd
A new Cobra replica isn’t a regular occurrence these days and it stands to reason that when a new one does turn up it gets a bit of attention, to say the least.
The men behind this new one, Peter Walker and Gary Sanders, have been DJ Sportscars’ engineering and design gurus for many years and the likelihood is that the XCS will be sold under the DAX banner as a premium plus type product. The car will certainly feature a DAX-sourced bodyshell.
The specification will definitely have Cobra lovers drooling with power coming from a supercharged GM LS3 V8 delivering a More >

SHARP INSTRUMENT – AUTOMOTIVE CREATIONS – ROYALE SABRE
May 3rd
The Royale Sabre was rightly regarded as one of the finest traditional roadsters and came from John Barlow, one of the UK’s foremost kitcar design talents, who’ll be unveiling his latest creation, the RAZOR three-wheeler at Stoneleigh, of course.
Unfortunately, despite the acclaim, the car has had a bit of a chequered production history, although it sold in good numbers, although new custodian, Malcolm Badger of Automotive Creations, aims to change all that and has resurrected this cracking car and at Stoneleigh will unveil his all-new demonstrator powered by a Ford Zetec engine delivering 170bhp, which features a few revisions and More >

A SPYDER WITHOUT SIX LEGS – MEV X5 LIGHTWEIGHT
May 3rd
The prolific Stuart Mills he of Mills Extreme Vehicles, is well on his way to joining the exclusive club of iconic kit car designers and this weekend’s National Kit Car Motor Show at Stoneleigh will see him launch not one but TWO new designs…
The MEV X5 Lightweight features a Spyder body configuration that is sure to be attractive and affordable, and although it uses the Mazda MX-5 as donor, it eschews the Japanese cars chassis in favour of MEV’s own spaceframe and from I’ve seen thus far it will give it the appearance and stance of the highly-regarded Lotus 2-Eleven.
