Received a missive from Tim Dutton this week, with news of goings on at his Littlehampton factory and developments on the amphibious Surf. He may have been producing kitcars since 1969, and amphibs since 1989, but Tim doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Apparently, 2012 was the best year thus far for Surf sales, while electric versions are currently under construction at the factory for a European customer who plans to rent the vehicles out for canal holidays. Caterham Cars has a greatly increased presence at this weekend’s Autosport International Show (ASI) at the NEC in Birmingham, including everything from live action experiences to the latest technology being developed by the new Caterham Group of companies.

The positioning of the ancillaries on a Ford Duratec can often cause clearance problems on racecars, kitcars and modified cars with additional equipment in the engine bay. Now Jenvey has produced two oil filter housings for the Ford Duratec to replace the large unit that is fitted as standard.

Webcon has just released a new roller vane type electric fuel pump for use on electronic fuel injection installations that require high flow and high pressure.

This pump is supplied complete with two wrap around cushioned mounting brackets and four bolts for quiet operation.

Ariel Motor Company will unveil their latest Atom variant at The Performance Car Show on 12-13 January 12-13 at Birmingham’s NEC.

The new Atom 3.5 features a host of updates, including a boost to 310bhp with the supercharged version of its 2-litre Honda iVTEC K20Z4 engine.
