SNIPPETS 1 …….. ‘Burnout to Breakout’ gives businesses a unique opportunity to put leadership, decision-making and performance under pressure to the ultimate test. Santa Pod Raceway has launched a new corporate leadership experience that takes businesses out of the boardroom and puts their performance to the test on one of the world’s most famous drag racing strips.
The first experience of its kind in the UK, Burnout to Breakout draws on the principles of professional drag racing to reveal how leaders and teams respond under pressure, make critical decisions, work together and improve performance.
The name captures the journey at the heart of the experience. In drag racing, a burnout sees tyres spinning, heat building and raw energy going nowhere, much like a team with power but no direction, and activity without progress. A breakout happens when a driver exceeds their predicted performance, breaks through their limits and goes faster than expected.
The same behaviours that drive success on the drag strip also drive success in business.
More than a traditional corporate away day, the experience combines coached and timed runs on Santa Pod’s famous drag strip with structured briefings and performance debriefs. Every reaction time and result is measured, helping teams turn what happens on the track into practical lessons they can apply in the workplace.
The concept is built around the parallels between motorsport and business. In both, success depends on clarity, commitment, teamwork, marginal gains and the ability to perform when the pressure is on. While hesitation or poor communication can be difficult to identify in an office environment, the start line makes those behaviours immediately visible. Every run generates data, creating an opportunity for participants to review their performance, adapt their approach and measure the improvement.

Burnout to Breakout goes further by creating an environment where leadership and team behaviours become visible. When the lights begin counting down, there is nowhere to hide. Participants must focus, make decisions and commit. Drag racing is built around precision, teamwork and continuous improvement. Championships can be decided by hundredths of a second, making Santa Pod an incredibly powerful environment in which to explore business performance.”
Businesses can choose from two high-impact formats. The exclusive Executive Performance Day puts up to 16 guests behind the wheel of Santa Pod Mustang race cars for three progressively challenging runs, culminating in a solo timed run. The fully hosted experience also features live timing data, professional marshalling, private hospitality, photography, an awards ceremony and a spectacular demonstration from a jet car capable of exceeding 300mph.
For larger groups, the Corporate Performance Half Day allows up to 40 participants to take their own eligible performance cars onto the famous Santa Pod strip for professionally marshalled timed runs. Each session includes a focused briefing and debrief, turning the adrenaline and competition of the track into meaningful lessons for the workplace.
The launch comes as Santa Pod celebrates its 60th anniversary. Established in 1966, the Northamptonshire venue is the home of British drag racing and hosts more than 60 motorsport and entertainment events each year.
Beyond the track, Santa Pod also has the space and infrastructure to host larger summer and Christmas parties, team offsites and bespoke brand experiences. Marquees, food courts, entertainment and even a fairground can be incorporated to create a complete event in one location.

SNIPPETS 2 ……. This autumn, the British Motor Museum will partner with Playground Games to host two exciting STEM Careers Days for KS2 students. Held on October 13-14, the days will be packed with hands-on activities, interactive tours, and inspirational talks. These events will give students the chance to explore real-world STEM skills and discover how their interests and school studies could lead to future careers.
Each day runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm, when students can enjoy an interactive talk about careers in the games industry with Becky Kalam, Community and Outreach Project Manager at Playground Games, who make ‘Forza Horizon 6’.
There will be an opportunity to explore the Forza Horizon 6: The Experience exhibition, to learn more about careers in the games industry and try out the gaming simulation rigs to see those different roles in action. The day also includes trails and engaging Museum tours, plus hands-on workshops with the Learning and Archive Teams, exploring inventions, innovators, and the skills needed for future success.

We’re passionate about supporting the next generation of technicians, engineers and scientists. Funding by Playground Games is available to support eligible schools with the cost of student places, particularly where these costs might otherwise prevent pupils from taking part. Eligibility is based upon the school’s percentage of Free School Meals
exceeding the national average.
Limited places are available – offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The museum also offers a Travel Support Fund open to all schools to help cover the cost of coach transport to the museum. This has been made possible through the support of Arts Council England.
The British Motor Museum, located between Warwick, Leamington Spa, Banbury and Stratford-upon-Avon, is one of Europe’s most highly regarded centres for the conservation and display of automotive heritage, a cornerstone in the story of the United Kingdom, its people and culture.
