FOR ‘DRYING’ OUT LOUD!

Sealants are pretty important products. Once you’ve prepped and washed your car, an application of sealant literally seals the surface helps and is a great base for a wax topper.

This product from Duel Auto Care looks a bit intimidating at first glance as it comes in a bag with a syringe, which is nothing to worry about it just ensures that you don’t use too much product.

Simply add just 5ml (a teaspoonful) to your foam cannon and spray it onto your car. The lance helps activate the polymers in the product. Flex gave me a deep, glossy finish with a More >

THE STORY OF ALEXIS CARS AND THE ALEXIS GT THAT DIDN’T OFFICIALLY EXIST!

THE STORY OF THE ALEXIS GT

I spotted this stunning little GT car in archives recently but initially couldn’t find the notes that I knew should have been with it. It was called the Alexis GT and for a few weeks that was all I knew because I couldn’t find that pesky missing information.

I also looked at my book of words on Alexis Cars but that just confused me more as they only produced trials car and single-seaters for Formula Junior, F100 (single-seater formula for cars powered by Kent Crossflow 1300 engines), FF1600, F3 and F2 between 1959-1976.

TIM DUTTON SALE

Press release from Tim Dutton marks the beginning of the end of an incredible legacy building kitcars which began in the late sixties.

Tim changed the way that kitcars were sold and marketed. Numerous whole-page adverts in trade magazines every month got the message across. I wonder, how many more he would have sold in an internet age.

Until Tim came along kitcars were often quite high priced and quite often everything bar the body and chassis were considered extras. Tim changed that and very much adhered to the ‘pile ’em high; sell ’em cheap’ mantra with full kits often priced around More >

Burton Power has announced that it can now offer its own fully reconditioned Type 9 (also referred to as a ‘Type N’ gearbox in some workshop manuals) five-speed gearbox as an outright sale; no exchange is required.

This was Ford’s first rear-wheel-drive five-speed box, based on the four-speed Type E. It features a cast iron main case with an alloy tail housing.

This gearbox is the most commonly used for five-speed conversions on older vehicles, not just for classic Fords but More >
