BLADERUNNER

OOH I SAY!

A brand new model from Mills Extreme Vehicles to tell you about. Nothing unusual about that I hear you say, but it’s exciting news all the same.

Weighing in at just a smidgeon over 400kg this is the most power-mad MEV yet with a scorching power-to-weight ratio of 505bhp per tonne, thus giving it real hypercar beating performance potential.

The standard Honda CBR1000 Fireblade unit delivers about 178bhp although the Exoblade benefits from a Power Commander that More >

ANOTHER ONE BASED ON PORSCHE BOXSTER 986

Joining Turismo UK’s Toyota MR2-based Avalanche GT package, which takes its design cues from a model by well-known Porsche tuner, Gemballa, comes the Evolution GT, which is based around Porsche Boxster 986 floorpan and mechanicals.

This one takes its influences from the RUF CTR3, another famed Porsche 911 tuner and in addition to the 3.2-litre Boxster S power option, Turismo UK is also working on a GM LS3 V8 variant.

CLASSIC KIT COMEBACK – SORT OF

When I heard that Derek Hambly had acquired the Cox GTM Coupé (more lately available via Primo Designs) I just knew I’d heard that name before.

Then it dawned on me. Back in the day when I worked on Kit Cars & Specials magazine and we sponsored the fledgling Kit Car Challenge series (a proper motley crew of Wacky Racers) inaugurated in 1984 by the 750 Motor Club, Derek used to campaign a spritely little GTM with a feisty 1329cc A-Series engine and did quite well.

Anyway, these days, Derek (then based in Dover, now near Sevenoaks, Kent), a chartered mechanical engineer, More >
