There must be quite a few Austin Healey Sprite owners – or kits and conversions based on the car – who are preparing their cars for the first outing of the year. So, it’s just the right time to consider installing a Fidanza lightweight flywheel.
A Fidanza lightweight aluminium flywheel will improve performance and acceleration because replacing the heavy standard flywheel dramatically improves the power-to-weight ratio.

Here’s one for our friends in North America.

A MINI REBUILD

Anyone who is rebuilding an ‘A’ Series engine over the winter will be pleased to hear that Mini Spares is now offering the special dowels required when refitting main caps.
The special round dowels fit in the main bearing caps to locate the caps correctly and ensure the bolts go through casings precisely where the surfaces meet.
Two versions are available: Dowel – Maincap for 1300cc engines. Part number: 12G1268. Each £2.16 inc VAT Dowel – Maincap for all other ‘A’ Series engines. Part number: 2A54. Each £1.82 inc VAT

I’M A ROCKER!

Conventional rocker arms tend to produce sideways movement in the valve stems which causes high levels of friction and subsequent wear to both stems and valve guides.
Replacing the standard rockers with roller-rockers virtually eliminates this wear thanks to the strong-arm construction of the rockers and the presence of large, low friction needle roller bearings.
