That chap Duncan Cowper has been at it again. The diehard and fiendishly quick owner of a succession of superfast DAX RUSH delicacies over the years has been busy making attempts on the HOW FAST? events run by Motorsport Vision at their Bedford venue.

In a nutshell you sign-up, pay your fee (circa £100) and head off to Bedford Autodrome where your day culminates in an attempt at the lap record on their 1.8-mile WEST circuit.

Our Dunc, in his Rush powered by 500bhp turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa has had several cracks at the record – currently held by Juno in an incredible time of 1:14.800 with another of our mates at the wheel, Graham Hathaway) but although he’d performed admirably had been stymied by a combination of inclement weather and a couple of technical issues.

However, last Saturday, Duncan and his technical guru and all-round good bloke of the spanner, Geoffrey of the Page returned to Bedford with one thing on their minds. One thing to point out is that a look at the league table of times thus far reveals some seriously fast cars and drivers taking their turns and the end result is that Cowper has slotted into SECOND place behind the Juno with a time of 1:14.860 – he managed a 1:14.500 in practise in the morning, mind – and left many people extremely impressed with him and the DAX’s abilities. He’ll be back you can be sure…

Here’s some links to the day’s fun and frolics –
