THE ‘NEW’ RON-RON
The wonderful Ronart W152 kit is now a marvellous 25-years old and the Jaguar-based leviathan remains as popular as ever.
From launch, it’s been powered by either XK straight six engine in 3.8-litre or 4.2-litre forms or of course, the glorious XJ12 twelve-cylinder, both of which give a great soundtrack and spirited performance. A recent drive reminded of why I liked the car in the first place…the car stokes up images of classic BRM, Vanwall and Mercedes Silver Arrows GP cars of yesteryear.
News from the Peterborough-based company this week concerns the availability of a new engine option. Customers can now fit the Jaguar XK8 V8 unit, which will give around 330bhp in standard guise, with plenty of tuning potential.
It was good to see the Ronart at the recent Newark show and this new option will give it added attraction.
