Father and son team, Malcolm and Daniel Badger of Automotive Creation re-launched the Royale Sabre at last weekend’s Stoneleigh show and received a very encouraging response.

Certainly their demonstrator belied the fact that they only finished it hours before setting off for Warwickshire from their Teesside base, following hundreds of hours of midnight oil burning.

The new car is powered by a Ford Zetec engine producing some 170bhp although a BMW-based variant is under development and will follow in due course. Malcolm tells me that he was anxious to return the well-respected John Barlow design to kit production.

Specification is certainly as you’d expect from such a stately roadster and features heated and electrically operated seats, Bluetooth™ connectivity, new heater system and several other subtle changes.

Malcolm estimates that a self-build could be completed from around £16,000.

NICE!
